*”I was referred to Cindy by a friend of mine after living with excruciating back and pelvic pain since the birth of my son 16 plus months postpartum. I regularly saw a chiropractor and had seen an OBGYN but neither could diagnose nor effectively treat my symptoms .I felt kike my insides were falling out and intercourse was so incredibly painful. I could not continue living this way and it made me fearful of having more children and what the health of my pelvic floor was. Since completing my therapy at Smart Body my back pain has nearly entirely disappeared and I have so much improvement in my range of motion. I have learned how to move properly and engage my back and core when caring for my son. Most, exciting however is the improvement in strength of my pelvic floor and decrease in pain with intercourse. I am hopeful that over time and with continued exercise, my uterine prolapse will no longer exist. Because of my improvement I feel confident about continuing my and my husbands plan to have more children. I cannot thank Cindy enough!”

*”I was seeking physical therapy to address pelvic floor pain following a “series” of UTI”s this year. Riding a bike and sexual intercourse were both uncomfortable. I was in constant discomfort sitting, walking, and working out with the symptoms of burning, tingling, and itching. I certainly have acquired more awareness of the working of the pelvic floor muscles and nerves. I am able to enjoy (without fear) sexual activity again and to understand the dynamics of pain management. I had no prior idea that physical therapy could be so helpful in alleviating distress of this kind.”

*”Dr. Epstein recommended that my pelvic floor muscles were weak. I had bladder concerns that were I thought infections but were actually from pelvic floor weakness. Since physical therapy, I feel less bladder irritations and feel healthier since my pelvic floor exercises.””

*”I could not have a bowel movement without using a laxative. I was very sore around the belly button area. My abdominal area would swell a lot and became very uncomfortable. I experienced a lot of pain in my lower back. Since physical therapy I am now able to have 2 bowel movements a day without taking anything, just doing my stretches and drinking water and eating at night. My abdominals are not sore or swollen and my back feels much better. It was worth my time coming all the way from Dallas. I am doing great, glad I can feel like myself again.”

*”Towards the end of my pregnancy I knew I wanted to receive Women”s Health Physical Therapy to prevent any increase of my postpartum pains and thus prevent the limitations of my functional activities because of pain. At four weeks postpartum I had my initial visit at Smart Body physical therapy. After the birth of my daughter I began to have upper back and neck pains from breastfeeding. I also began to feel my core strain when carrying the infant carrier or when to take the stroller in and out of my car trunk. I was also having low back pain on occasions when laying flat on my back and when moving onto my sides while in bed. After completing 3 sessions of women”s health physical therapy with Cindy Neville, I have been able to perform my new functional tasks as a mother without pain when using the proper lifting and positioning techniques.”

*”I had to be careful how long I sat in one position, how I lifted objects even how I showered so as not to aggravate my back. Now I don’t even have to think about my back. I can pick up my grandsons (ages 2, 4 and 6) with no pain and my back does not bother me in the shower anymore.”

*”It was very hard to get a good sleep, as my arm kept waking me up. Could not reach back for my seat belt. It was hard to carry groceries. Was unable to wash my back with my arm, and every day chores had an ache when using my bad arm. Now after the care and knowledge of the staff, I am mostly pain free after 5-6 weeks of PT and exercise. It is so wonderful to have a full range of motion without pain. The staff provided me with exercises to do at home so I can keep improving. Thank you so much for your care, concern, and encouragement!”

rs_am09ken*”I struggled with a tight/damaged hamstring and knee pain from running, and a sore neck and shoulder from swimming and biking. The massage and PT exercises we worked on minimized the issues from these overuse injuries. In fact, I went into my last race of the season, the Miami Man half-ironman race at the beginning of November injury-free after 6+ months of training and racing. That is a near miracle from where I started!

I finished the Miami Man in a PR time of 4:43 which was good enough to win my 30-34 age group, and come in 5th overall out of almost 700 people.

That is on top of a 3rd overall finish and PR at the Jacksonville Triathlon Series Sprint #2, and a 4th overall finish and PR at the Ameliaman olympic distance triathlon earlier in the year. See the photos from the Ameliaman, below.

Thank you for your help in this. Take care and I’ll be coming in again soon to get prepared for next season.”

*”I have suffered with chronic prostatitis for over 25 years. I was put on medication after medication for months on end. Eventually they had no real affect on the symptoms. In April of 2011 I ended up in the ER with extreme urinary track pain and urinary retention. Again I was diagnosed with prostatitis and put back on antibiotics. In a referral to a really smart urologist, it was noted that I didn’t have an infection at all, but that I needed physical therapy for pelvic floor dysfunction.

After four months with Laura, I am nearly symptom free. My CPSI score has reduced from a 27 to a 9. I have been taught ways to manage my pain (when I have it) and to identify the causes of the pain. Choosing Smart Body Physical Therapy has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.”

*”Before Smart Body Physical Therapy I was walking with assistance of crutches and unable to put much weight on left leg. After Smart Body Physical Therapy I am now able to walk unassisted placing full weight on my left leg. I have learned exercises that have helped me develop strength in the left leg.”

*”I had a knee injury from volleyball about 18 months ago – diagnosed as patella tendonitis. I under went physical therapy for six weeks at a local physical therapy facility, but the pain was only reduced marginally. At Smart Body Physical Therapy after approximately six weeks of therapy and “homework,” the discomfort in the knee has disappeared!”

*”Prior to Physical Therapy at Smart Body Physical Therapy I needed to wear a pantiliner every day due to stress incontinence. I was unable to participate in high impact activities such as jogging or jumping. After Physical Therapy at Smart Body Physical Therapy my abdominal muscles are stronger and flatter. I’ve learned some really effective exercises that I will continue to use. I rarely need a pantiliner, and I can usually jog without “leaking.” I especially appreciate the education I have received about the muscles that affect and strengthen the core. Thank you!”

*”Before Smart Body Physical Therapy I had terrible pain with intercourse and when I had to use a tampon with my period. After Smart Body Physical Therapy I now have no pain at all with insertion of a tampon and intercourse is almost pain free. Before I started Physical Therapy my pain level on a scale of 1-10 was about an 8 or 9. After Smart Body Physical Therapy and use of a TENs unit, my pain level has not been over a 3. Many Many Thanks!”
